Privacy Policy

Who we are

RankList is a streaming show ranking service at ranklist.com. When we say “we”, “us”, or “RankList” in this policy, that's who we're talking about. Questions? Email us at support@ranklist.com.

What we collect

• Account information — when you sign up, we store your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google (nothing else).
• Your lists — the shows you add to your WatchList, SkipList, and RankList, along with any ratings you give. This is the whole point of the service.
• Partner pairing — if you connect your account with a partner, we store that relationship so we can show you shared lists.
• Waitlist email — if you signed up for the pre-launch waitlist, we stored only your email address. We'll send one email when the site opens, then that's it.
• Basic usage data — standard server logs (page visits, errors). We don't use third-party analytics trackers.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data. Ever. To anyone.
• We don't run ads. There are no advertisers to share your data with.
• We don't track you across other sites. No third-party ad pixels, no cross-site tracking cookies.
• We don't send marketing email. We'll only email you about your account or things you explicitly asked to be notified about.

Third-party services we use

• TMDB — we use The Movie Database API for show metadata (titles, posters, genres). TMDB doesn't receive any of your personal information.
• Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Google, Google handles that authentication flow. We only receive your name and email.
• Vercel — our hosting provider. Your data lives on servers they operate. Vercel has its own privacy policy.
• Neon — our database provider. Your list data is stored in a Neon-hosted Postgres database.

Your data, your control

You can ask us to export or delete your account data at any time by emailing support@ranklist.com. We'll handle it promptly. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information and your lists. Show ranking data (scores) is anonymized and may be retained to keep the rankings accurate.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. That's it. No advertising cookies, no analytics trackers, no third-party tracking pixels. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, we don't show a cookie consent banner — under EU law (ePrivacy Directive / GDPR), strictly necessary cookies are exempt from consent requirements.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We're not going to quietly change something important without noting it.
